Maison Martin Margiela

My top ten in no particular order, not that I can afford pieces from many of them:

MMM, even though the man himself is gone I still love the styling
Junya - the aesthetic is killer, could never rock it myself
Veronique Branquinho
Marc by Marc : affordable, currently ties in with what I consider my current style
Raf by Raf: I like this a lot more than mainline raf nowadays
Jil: I don't understand how a designer can design better for one line than for his own brand
Y-3: Best "luxe" sportswear by any designer, hands down
McQueen (mainline)
Henrik Vibskov
Gap: I've been wearing lots of gap shirts lately. Fit is not bad for me

margiela's actual involvement has been minimal for a while anyway, so has little bearing for me.

10 'favorite' brands is a lot to list, but I'll take a quick stab nonetheless: Balenciaga - Pretty interesting cuts and really nice fabrics and quality for a designer brand. It's really become a brand I've come to appreciate over the past few years Prada - My go to brand and by far the designer brand I have most stuff from. Only a favorite for the mainline and higher end items though! Jil Sander - Great quality and usually very wearable, from belts to shirts to outerwear, but to me it's a bit boring at times. MMM - Love the footwear and accessories. The cuts have been a bit hit and miss for me, but I like the style. Dries Van Noten - I almost prefer it to MMM, surprisingly I've found some of the shirts to be really top notch. Great belts too! Common Projects - My designer sneaker brand of choice, together with MMM & even Neil Barrett (who makes very CP like sneakers from time to time) Junya Watanabe - Probably my favorite of the Japanese brands. Loved the 'biker jacket' fall season a couple of years back. Dior Homme - These days mostly for the staples, like jeans. Kohzo - A bit of a strange choice, but some of the jeans are really quite something.. APC - Again, for the jeans. I really wished I could list Nicolas Andreas Taralis too, but I haven't had a chance to see the items in person, and can't say I'm convinced by what I've seen in photos yet. Would love to check out the jeans though!

Ditto.

Mine:

Robert Geller - nice outerwear. I like his military + urban sensibilities.
Maison Martin Margiela - Wearable basics. Interesting footwear and accessories.
Dries van Noten - basics + focus on materials + that amorphous "ethnic" thing he does makes for interesting wear.
MA+ - great accessories and also interesting jackets/knitwear
Krane Man & Bag - most well thought out outerwear in the contemporary category that I've seen in a while.
Wings+Horn - most solid fit and materials and construction at the best prices. Good eye for little details. Really have become a fan of their jeans.
KMW - best basics there are - jeans, tees, pullovers, belts. Collection is in 45RPM category, but (a little) less pricey, and the cuts are a little more modern.
WWM - great outerwear - has supplanted Engineered Garments for me. I like the slightly less workwear, more turn-of-the century outdoorsman feel.
Mr. Olive - Gotta proxy now, but good basics - interesting fabrics and treatments at decent prices.
RRL - good basics (thermals, pullovers) + very cool vintage replicas and inspired pieces.

Other stuff I like to wear:
Nice Collective, Common Projects (not at retail though), Entermodal (totally worth retail, but I can't afford it), Nicolo Ceschi Berrini, Jean shop (leather accessories)

We can but I doubt they allow 500 different choices and I wasn't about to type them anyway.
