^pronxs, i dont know where that guy gets his measurements from, but a gitman large is is fairly slim on me, whereas a j crew large fits very comfortably. i wear an xl in steven alan shirts and i suggest you do the same.

Just giving my opinion on fit. Check out the posts by ssnyc a couple pages back. He wears a medium in both J. Crew and Steven Alan. He mentions Steven Alan is only slightly slimmer than J. Crew...which I agree. Unless you do not want the slimmer fit, I cannot see why you would not go with your normal size in Steven Alan.

These hats are available in the Tribeca and Venice locations, at least they were a couple weeks ago. They were $98.

have some issues with the steven alan reverse seam shirts that i have.

i have a few ( couple bought on gilt for 65 bux each and a couple from barney coop for 90 wool blend flannel though) and they all ended up WAY short in the front.

they are machine washable, i did wash them cold and lay flat to dry , but the front comes up above or at my belt.

looks silly. there is no drape in the front anymore. i cant even tuck it in (if i wanted to).

stupid shirts are a waste i cant wear them anymore.

i have a reverse seam shirt i've had for 2 or 3 years now, it's held up just fine. i machine wash and hang to dry, no noticeable shrinkage

FWIW, sho'nuff is what English majors refer to as an unreliable narrator
post #56 of 88

Might you be able to proxy me a blue'un?

Never had any issue with shrinking and I've got 3 reverse seam shirts. Only issue, which isn't an issue based on the styling, is they fit a little tight across the chest- feel like they pull one button from the top. Other than that the fit is great and make a nice casual alternative to BoO etc.
