i think the ma-1 sample was pretty much it. difference between that and the production model is different material, shorter cuffs and slightly wider sleeves. one thing i hope that does get changed (which i doubt) is the position of the webbing patch moved closer to the zipper.

ah just read the website and looks like they are sticking to nylon shell.

^ spot on man, I was trying to think for a moment there what it was that actually was changing from the sample myself. Not much, just a few tweaks beyond the web patch (turning into leather) moving upwards a bit. None of the changes wil be that noticeable because everyone's sizes are different and clothes obviously look different in each size.

BTW swooc, your peacoat is done today and I get to go grab it tonight.

in other news;

We have some contacts now for making shoes domestically, and we have a contact for the factory that makes all the CP sole sneakers, so once we weigh options and figure out what we can and want to make, we'll work on those. Just pushing on. Footwear, combined with the knits and denim and full tailoreds, plus an old connection we've had since the beginning for making technical outdoor sport clothing, and I think we're coming around to some first level of completion now, most of my pieces are coming into place. It took me 7 months to figure out how to do all of this from scratch but I am liking what is happening lately, stuff is getting really good.

I'm down for TOJ knits and boots. BTW in one week my moto has gotten more compliments than anything else i've ever worn.

Have you posted fit pics of your moto?

I have to see who makes what, and who makes what correctly, before I decide upon footwear. I've been looking at shoemakers over here for a little while and haven't breached the level where I've found the really serious people who make shoes properly, ie steel shanked, hand corked soles, bench made shoes. They exist, but I'm hoping this new set of contacts brings them closer to me.

Same here with my brown bomber. Although that may have as much to do with my lack of steez (pre-TOJ of course) than the jacket itself.

Good to hear the toj effect is taking shape in your neighborhoods. Stock up on rubbers if you are wearing Toj leather or suede.
