Update on the washing experiment - I actually decided to wash it again, just to see what would happen (nothing drastic, just about 15 minutes, including spinning). It is completely dry now, and the leather has a nice, matte finish, and the grain is much more apparent than when it was unwashed. The leather now has that distinct It also shrank a bit, though definitely not a full size. Maybe a 1/2 size or so. It fits the same over a thin pullover as it did over a rather thick sweatshirt before it was washed, and the sleeves are slightly shorter I may need to put just a touch of conditioner on it (dunno yet, it's a tradeoff between the matte finish and the suppleness of the leather), but I'm going to just kneed the jacket a bit with my hands, and see what a few days of wear does first. Anyway, looks really sharp. I'm hoping that it will soften up a bit, but at the same time, show some wear quicker. Jitrois had some remarkable jackets in about 03 like this. Hey Drew, how about trying a cracked suede? Margiela and Jitrois both did this a while back.
