Number of Eggs One Should Consume

This past weekend I decided to make an egg scramble. The thing is...I used 5 eggs and ate the whole thing. Was that too much? I'm not a huge egg eater, so I wasn't sure. IIRC, short order restaurants use 2-3 eggs when you ask for scrambled.

How many eggs do you guys eat daily/use in an omlette or scramble? I'm on a healthy kick right now and I'm trying to eat better...did I just set myself back?

ps
I know that Gaston ate 4-5 dozen eggs to allow him to become the size of a barge. I think that is overkill. And he is fictional.

I eat three eggs for breakfast every single morning. I don't think 5 eggs is too many every once in a while, but to do 5 every day would seem like a lot.

Eggs are one of the healthiest foods you can eat.

They are high in cholesterol, but dietary cholesterol doesn't raise your blood cholesterol. Eat as much of them as you want if it fits your dietary goals.

2 eggs per day (on average) is OK if you're younger, but as you get older you should probably limit yourself to 1 egg per day. I'm a fan of egg whites in a carton (trader joe's brand is better than most), you can eat those all you want.

I have this every weekday morning: Two-egg omelette with field peas Handful of rolled oats Two cups of coffee My family has a history of high cholesterol. I'm curious to see my HDL/LDL levels when I get my bloodwork done in a week or so.

I usually eat 3 eggs at a time, either with toast or rice. I don't eat eggs every day, but regularly enough so that I buy eggs pretty much every week. 5/day might be overkill, but if you don't eat everyday, I don't see a problem with that.

I eat 4 pretty much every day. Eggs are delicious. I know a guy who eats a dozen for breakfast every day (he is larger than I am).

i eat 3-5 eggs everyday and my total cholesterol is 140. apparently not a big deal.

While I do not consume eggs everyday like some of you freaks , whenever I feel up to eating some I'd make a 10-egg omelet. Throw in some cheese, pat of butter = yummy.

I do this about once a week. Wash down with 3 cups of coffee. Usually on weekends.

I don't understand the required logistics for a 10-egg omelette.

Last time I was at my doc he was going on and on about how great my cholesterol was, and how he was surprised it was so good given my family history. I don't know enough to know if it's really that great or if he was just blowing smoke up my ass (128 overall, HDL 77, LDL 37). He commented that I must not eat a lot of meat and cheese, and after thinking about it I realized that I really don't (does cottage cheese count?), but said that I do eat a lot of eggs. He was not concerned and mentioned some study or another that had indicated eggs had little influence on cholesterol levels. If I recall correctly the people in the study were on an egg per day; I did not mention to him that I was eating 4x that.

Of course, most doctors don't seem to know much about nutrition, but there you go.

Big pan, lots of ingredients (cheese) and love/attention.

i think eating 5-10 eggs in one day is not bad at all, considering it is rarely done.

however i would say maximum for a guy would be 3-4 eggs a day (that also includes like cakes and batters you may eat). unless you are eating only whites only then unlimited.

I always eat 3 a day, they are cheap. Have 130 cholesterol too.

a study in the british medical journal showed that seven eggs a week combined with low-glycemic carbs and high fiber did not raise cholestoral levels at all. eat up!
