This is going to sound very removed from the world, but where I live there are so many Porsche that I really don't pay attention anymore, and I'm a car guy! Hell, there are so many Bentleys that I don't pay attention to them either. SoFLA is fantasy land...

This '31 Packard Deluxe 8 Sport Phaeton has the rather rare Daphne at the Well hood ornament and, refreshingly, has blackwall tires instead of the wide whitewalls that so many owners of classics find obligatory. The purple under the fenders is a dandy touch.

I've seen some various old classics and vintage racers go up for live auction, watching people actually raise their paddle and increase the bid when its around 900,000 and you start to hear 'do I have One Million fifty thousand. And One Million Fifty Thousand, do I have one million one hundre- one million one hundred..." I'm in the same boat as ImageWis. Because of where I live, Porsches lose a lot of their 'exclusivity', but I still love them more than any other automobile.

An Elan in your garage with a Decap next door? I'm sick with envy! But to give a point to this post, I'd be curious to your thoughts on the M100 Elan.

No, must have been something else. 540K Spezial-Roadsters are the crème of the 1930's Mercedes crop. $2 Million, easy...and last one that I know that sold at auction went for $3.5 million.
