Best looking raw/one-wash denim

I generally buy raw and one-wash denim with hopes of having them look awesome after they are broken in. While most of them look pretty nice in their raw state, I'm getting kinda of bored with it. APC, Kicking Mule, Nudie, Julian Red, Acne... the denim all looks pretty similar in their raw state.

I'm looking for something that looks nice enough that breaking them in isn't a top priority. Something that you'd almost want to keep in the raw state because the color is just beautiful.

The Rag & Bones were nice for this (some of them are beautiful to look at) but the inseam is too short for me. Sugarcane makes a some nice looking models, but I don't know how the fit would work out for me.

Any suggestions? Japanese brands are perfectly fine.

I think that 5EPs in either model (Straight or bootcut) in the resin wash might be the way to go. The resin wash means they break in very slowly as well. They only come AFAIK in a 32 inseam, but by far the longest 32 inseam I've ever worb,

I second 5EP, the color is deep and extraordinary.

I also like Eternal 811s, the indigo is so deep they look almost black.

I think Samurai's look great, I'm getting a pair that I probably wont be breaking in right away. Have a look and see if you like anything http://www.rakuten.co.jp/d-stock/540681/ worn: http://item.rakuten.co.jp/bears/samuraijeans-s5000vx/

What I'm guessing that you want is a nicely textured denim that looks great and sets them apart from other raw jeans and I guess the brand that does that best is Sugarecane, but the fits might not be the best.

Maybe you could get black japanese jeans, maybe the overdyed IronHearts

or maybe jeans with left hand denim, they look slightly different than right hand denim?

Most japanese denim have a nice texture but it usually isnt obvious until they've been worn a bit, so I don't know really.

There's a bunch of Japanese models that are one wash and get streaks. Sometimes its caused by how they're dyed like the 45rpm Jamons and sometimes its caused by different thread sizes in the weave like my Samurais SO110XJs.

If your translating Japanese web pages, look for jeans that feature vertical color falling or talk about plate impressions. Off the top of my head 811s, Denime 15ths, and most Samurais (they talk about plate impressions) fit the bill.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

Agreed on the 5EP, the color does look great. They feel and look a good deal different than any of the brands I've seen in person. I own the Dark Worn Bootcuts and the 32" inseam on those fits perfectly. May consider picking up the resin, but since It'd probably be my last resort since I already have the worn.

I'll have to go through rakuten and look at everything you guys pointed out. Definitely sounds like Japanese is the way to go though.

As a seperate pair, I really like the idea of the Overdyed black, but probably shouldn't do the 21 oz Ironhearts in Los Angeles

I think 45rpm makes them also, and they have an american webstore coming soon so that may make things easier.

I gotta say that I really like how the '47 sugarcanes look. Even the one-wash denim is almost like a blackish purplish color, and they aren't that expensive if you go through djrajio or bid service. Really nice, and I wouldn't write them off because of superfuture's obsession with them.

^ The concern with Sugarcanes is because of the fit, especially with the special models like the SC40400 and SC40500, which are cut very large in the seat and thighs. More like a 55 than a 47.

I haven't seen the 47s in person, but the 'canes I have seen are definitely quality.

Hi
smile.gif
I've actually been here since july or something but I had to re-register because of the crash.

If they dont have to look super-irregular before broken in you could look at The Flat Head, the denim is close to as slubby as Eternals but you can get them in other cuts than the 66 that the 811s are.

Its the same denim as this jacket http://denim-gallery.heavy.jp/flathead_6002w-3.html

You can also look at some rakuten stores to see if anything stands out, this one has nice pictures http://www.j-fabled.com/shopping_jeans.html and this one is alright, has pcis of them worn http://www.rakuten.ne.jp/gold/bears/
