Has anyone had any experience with Modern Tailor's suits?

Guys, this is a follow up to my post a few days ago. I apologize for the shoddy pictures. I am new to this forum, I haven't yet figured out the best way to take and post pictues. Here's me wearing one of the shirts(ordered total of 3 shirts) I received from Modern Tailors. As you can see, it is a few inches too long. It fits much tighter than the other 2 shirts even though I ordered slim fit for all of them. I took measurements off of my best fitting shirt as suggested by Modern Tailor. Modern Tailor said that since I took measurement off of a shirt, choosing slim fit wouldn't make any difference. So I am not sure why this one shirt fits different than the others. It costs $44 to ship them back to Shanghai. I found a local tailor who did the adjustment for $10 apiece, which is much cheaper. Here's the pic of me in the same shirt after shortening the length by 3 inches. Here's me wearing another shirt, which is a bit roomier than the one above. This shirt is from the $39.99 price point and the fabric quality is much superior to the one above, which is a 29.99 shirt. .

I received the two shirts I ordered from Modern Tailor today. I ordered these shirts less than two weeks ago!!! They fit great, even slimmer then the best fitting shirt that I gave them measurements from. I did add darts to the back and selected slim fit. The fabric seems thin. Although I ordered the MOP buttons they are extremely thin and do not compared to other MOP buttons I have on other MTM shirts. I will post more are they are laundered a few times.

little personal feedback on Modern tailor:
I'm tall and slim, I like very fitted shirts and never found what I want in standard sizes.
... but I don't want to spend a lot of money in bespoke shirts

I tried tailorstore.com, the cut was perfect but the fabric quality was very poor.
For the same price, I have good fabric quality by Modern Tailor, even if the cut is not so perfect: they take some liberty with the non-standard measures without asking for confirmation.

But I continue to order by them because of the good ratio quality/price, and because of their outstanding customer service:
- I never received one of my shirts, and despite of the transporter who told "delivered", they resent me the same shirt for free.
- On my last order they took a big liberty with my measurements, the sleeves were really too large. I complained and they refunded me by voucher: the value of my order +20%

About this problem of the "tailor" taking unfortunate initiatives, after my complain, they add a note on my profil, telling that my measures should be respected precisely, even if they seems weird.

NB: I always use the measures of my "best shirt" in online tailors. The measure "on body" can easily vary by 10 or 20% depending on who takes the measure, I found this method too risky and random... and you can never know which margin the tailor will apply.

I'd like to order a shirt from MT, but I have an important question--

Does anyone know if they always add 12cm to your chest/waist/hips for a slim fit? I provided measurements based off another MTM shirt I have and I want it made to those specifications. I don't want them to add 12cm to any of those three areas. If they do, I'm going to subtract about 12cm from those three areas to make sure the final cut equals the exact measurements of my fitted dress shirt I used.

Thoughts?

After further research, it seems that when you input measurements from another shirt, MT bypasses the various "additions" from your measurements.

Yes of course: if you provide measurements "on body", they add some margin.
But if you provide measurements from a shirt, they follow it strictly: it's literally a copy of your shirt.
(except some unfortunate initiatives from the tailor...)

Ordered a ModernTailor.com shirt on the 23rd and just got a ship notification. They say it'll take 5-7 days to arrive. That's pretty fast!

This thread (and several other modern tailor reviews) were very helpful with my ordering from modern tailors.

I've also ordered my first shirt over the weekend, and got a notice that the shirt was done already. (It didn't even take a week, and this is holiday season! I'm really impressed.) I'm eagerly waiting for the shirt, and even if it doesn't fit perfectly, I'll just go get it altered for measurement reference on future shirts

This thread was most helpful. I changed my measurements to "shirt measurements" on the advice of this thread and am looking forward to a better fitting shirt. Even though I had to go off of an OTR shirt and the measurements Proper Cloth gave me. I think I've got a good idea of how I want my shirt to fit, even though I am not entirely sure how much room I want to be able to move around. I figured an 1.5" - 2" + my body measurements. Hopefully I didn't go too aggressive with the slim fit.

Just ordered two shirts tonight (thanks to the folks providing the $20 codes!)--I used my favourite TB shirt for reference, I'm hoping they'll turn out.

Got my shirt today. Ordered a little before Christmas. Pretty darn quick turnaround time. Propercloth hasn't even said they made my shirt yet and I ordered that one at the beginning of December. Either case, not complaining, did know the lag time when I ordered with PC. Just saying MT is freaking fast. I think its a little too tight in the chest and waist. Not sure if there are supposed to be those folds where the shoulder is. Maybe its from the chest pulling. Used the measure your shirt option. Edit: Did some self measuring of the shirt, looks like they made it about .75" smaller than what I told them. Probably not an issue as long as it doesn't shrink.

Your shirt looks great. Doesn't appear too tight from this picture.

I haven't gotten around to writing my review of the shirts I got from them. It's a very long story which ended up with me getting three shirts and only paying for the first. They continually lost my order, and missunderstood several key things, so they offered to make free replacement shirts, since the first shirt they made for me was essentially unwearable, there was some sort of glue residue or stain on the back of the collar when it came.

The fit for me, was perfect. The MOP buttons are ridiculously thin, I'd pay more for the option of better quality MOP buttons for sure. The higher end fabrics are great. My main problem is the collars feel cheap and have an odd feel to them.

I might get around to firing off some pics of the whole lot.

I ordered one in early December and got it 10 days later. Amazing turnaround. I copied my best fitting shirt (a Truzzi) and the sizing was spot on. The fabric was quite nice too (and not expensive). But as Chips points out, there is something strange about the collar. It's stiff and coarse. The website offers a softer version of the standard collar and I might try that. But I can report on a quick turnaround and a nice fabric for the money. No pix yet as my digital camera committed suicide.
