Yeah I actually saw that review, so I took the plunge. I think if you get a good fit on an order then awesome, but trying to get them to fix a mistake is a pain! they want me to re-submit new measurements and place another order for a free re-make.....i tried explaining my measurements are fine and that they messed up on their end. we'll see how this goes....

I noticed on the website, they offer to make a shirt based on measurements from a shirt you own that already fits well, i will try this route for my remake. because my first order, i gave them measurements off my body and they butchered it. lets just hope they make the shirt to the exact specs i give them. what do you think my odds are????

I have ordered at least 15 shirts from Modern Tailor.
The fit has been right on each time, and I dont think you can get a better shirt for the money.
In the past I have contacted customer service, and they got back to me the same day.
I do recommend you spend the extra $2 on the mother of pearl buttons.

thats awesome, if you see my pic in the first post, they butchered the measurement for the waist. i agree about the bang for the buck, the quality of the shirt is nice. i am hoping i have better luck when i submit measurements from a well fitting shirt. maybe they aren't used to seeing waist as small as mine? for your shirts, did you measure off your body or provide them measurements from a well fitting shirt?

I ordered my first shirt a few weeks ago as part of the 'free shirt' offer they had on the B&S for about an hour. As a longtime Jantzen customer I was very impressed with the product and will be posting a full review with photos shortly.

I used this method for my shirt and they did a great job. I was a little aggressive in the arm hole and chest (trying to slim it down) and they did as I asked which made the shirt a little tight in that area. I think they did a very solid job of copying the measurements.

I got my remade shirt. It looks like a winner, the chest is a little tight, but thats my fault, they made it to the measurement i gave them. But overall, its 1000000 times better than the first shirt they sent me. This one was re-made based on measurements from a shirt I own. Do the sleeves look too big to you guys?

Take about a half an inch off the length and width of those sleeves, I'd say.
length and width of the sleeves are ok. its the cuffs that are too loose. they should be just small enough to not slide below the heel of the thumb.
The length and width are fine, when you consider 2-3% shrinkage allowance. If it's too narrow, the shirt will prematurely wear at the elbows. You may want to narrow the sleeve at the cuff, as atailor suggested. Are you wearing a watch in that picture? How are the cuffs feel when you put a watch on? The cut of the shirt is too rectangular. When you increase the chest width, it will have a more pleasing athletic cut. Thanks for the great review! Now, I want to order a shirt.

Nope, not wearing a watch. The shirt actually has a visible taper to it when you lay it flat and look at it. I dont want the chest too big, because i dont like the look of the excess material bunching up. I asked them to make the shirt 18" from seam to seam across the front, but its a little too snug ( my actual chest measures 35") . For my next order, I will make it 18.5" from seam to seam. Otherwise I am happy with it. My advice, dont take a gamble with measurements off the body, I did that and they completely F'ed up the waist measurement making it way too big. If you give them measurements from an existing shirt, it appears they follow that to a tee!

I have ordered from them recently with very poor results. I am posting here so that others may learn from my experience. The fit was very tight and the length was 3 inches too long! When I contacted them, Modern tailor said they could do nothing about the width and could only shorten the length. I had to give the shirts to a local tailor to get them shortened because it's cheaper than shipping the shirts back to Shanghai. To avoid heartache over mis-fitting shirts, I suggest you ship them your best fitting shirt and have them copy the exact measurements. Their low end fabrics' quality is so-so. It's better to go with the mid range(or high range if you can afford it) and get better quality. Also, if you have noticed, they keep changing the prices of the fabric. I have seen a 29.99 fabric go up in price to 39.99 and then back to 29.99! Maybe you need to hang out at their website all the time and grab shirts while they are cheap!
