A lot of choices here, and since you didn't mention whether you wanted dessert wine or not, there are numerous options in both categories. For non-dessert wines, I like German reislings and Portuguese vinho verde (whites). As far as sweet non-dessert reds go (i.e., not port), I wouldn't recommend anything. You might do better with a rose, like the aforementioned Sattui Gamay Rouge, or there are some good semi-dry roses from some of the California wineries like Renwood (which is I think a syrah rose). One thing you might try is a good demi-sec champagne. I like Mumm and Moet's versions.
