Morongo casino and resort?

My wife and I want to go to desert hills premium outlets this weekend but since it's long weekend thought it would be fun to stay at a hotel nearby for kicks.

Anybody been to morongo hotel which is like right next door?

How is it and/or if there is any other recommendation would be greatly appreciated.
(I'd research but I took the day off today and have only blackberry so hard for me to surf the net, and this plan just came up out of the blue).

Stay in Palm Springs which is like 20 minutes away, the Morongo is just a vegas-like / indian casino with buffets, mid-western-types (or Inland Empire types) and the like. Its basically a hotel near the outlet stores....kind of a hellish truck stop. Viceroy, Le Parker Meridien or the Ace hotel. Ace hotel is a lot cheaper and low end but a cool vibe and nice pool. the viceroy and le parker are like being in another world...awesome vibes, great facilities.

the morongo does have a cool lattice design above their drop-off area.

Ace might....the other two are iffy. but it is hot as hell out there....

Viceroy is near downtown palm springs so you can walk around too....other two are a little bit further away like a mile or two.

They have really annoying commercials...that's all I know about the place.

Love both commercials.

Apparently switching your name from Casino Morongo to Morongo Casino gets you more points in the "we desperately want to be a Vegas casino" category.

it is a nice resort casino. just no theme though like a typical vegas casino.
