I also have one dated 7/17/19 from my income tax refund that is waiting to be deposited. I tried to deposit it at Wells Fargo for safe keeping but they said "No".

There must be some pretty big IOU's floating around out there and can you imaging how many will get lost and never cashed?

I think people who have like $6.50 owed to them should still go through the motions. I bet these California state govt. IOU's are worth more than that if sold on Ebay.

Except that you have to send in a signed, notarized claim form. If you don't have access to free notarial services through work or whatever, you're out of pocket whatever the going rate for notaries is.

Looks like my mom is owed $25. I am going to do it even if it costs me $30. I want a record to show my grandkids how irresponsible people who control the govt purse strings can get. What depths they have sank to in the past.
