You know what grinds my gears..

Starbucks, if I order a single espresso I'll pay around $1.60 and if it's a double it's almost double the price $2.60.

Now good coffee is what 14-20$ a pound? Starbucks serves their own [not so good] coffee which they get from central distributor so you can cut that in half. A pound of coffee makes oh 200-300 shots? So does it really cost 1.5-2x the price to make add another shot? It's even served in the same damn recycled cup.

Now it's obvious at Starbucks you don't pay for coffee, the cost of coffee and paper cups are so small you can forget about them when you are ordering a 5$ drink. But for the love of god, this isn't a bar where alcohol actually costs real money to serve, stop reminding me how little sense the prices make.

Don't really drink coffee but I was astonished when I flew back from Italy where I would get a pretty decent cup of espresso for less than a dollar but at the airport, an espresso from Starbucks cost four dollars.

In general Starbucks really bastes my turkey.

Meh.

If you don't like it, don't buy their coffee. There are plenty of other options out there. Even if you live in the sticks or the 'burbs, you could always make your own coffee.

Il mio zio came here a few months ago and went into a Starbucks... 'Hi, what can I get you?' 'An espresso.' 'One shot or two?' 'What? I want an espresso.' 'Do you want one or two shots?' 'I just want one espresso.' So the barista puts a single shot of espresso in a big paper cup. Il mio zio: "What the hell is this?"

I don't buy their coffee. It's not bad, but I do pretty well with the coffee I make at home.

Hahaha. I feel bad for coffee snobs in general. When I need a fix (10-15 times a year after an all-night drinking fest), I will just take some of the free stuff in the break room. It does the trick. $5 a cup? No thanks...

what grinds my gears is how spectacularly undrinkable Starbucks' drip coffees are.

I like that starbucks now offers free wifi... well at least for two hours a day. I can finally avoids the plebes at Panera and such other chains that smell like beans and beano... P.S. FWIW I still think Starbucks has the best iced coffee... Everything else tastes like shit IMHO

WTF are you ranting and raving about?

Did anybody FORCE you to buy starbucks?

You willingly shell out money for this "shit" and then complain, so I'd say you're the idiot here.

End rant.

Actually, their brewed coffee is decent. Their espresso however is disgusting.

How can anyone drink *$ espresso? I've tried - several times. Believe me, I've had a lot of horrible espressos in my life - 100% robusta, lukewarm lo-pressure ones - but *$ is one of the very worst and highly consistent in that regard.
