Tips for Selling a Watch?

I've recently come into possession of a Movado (I believe it is the Esperanza model) women's watch, and I'm thinking of selling it, as I could use the money (poor college student). My information says it was purchased for around $1000. I don't know anything about watches whatsoever. How can I go about discovering what's a fair resale value for the watch? It is in decent condition, with some normal scuffing on the underside of the dial. Should I take it to a jeweller's or a pawn shop, or try eBay?

Can I sell on TimeZone even if I am located in Canada and don't have the original box or papers?

Saw that one coming... No, I didn't steal it. An uncle bought from a storage auction and let me pick through it.

The guys at Timezone will not offer you any valuations; discussions about pricing other than RRP are against the rules. You are free to post your watch on the sales section though, irrespectively of where you live.

Don't know about Movado but www.forums.watchuseek.com has a very well visited B&S section.

For a Movado, you may as well sell it on ebay, kijiji or craigslist. I don't know how much interest it will attract on timezone

Thanks for the advice/info, guys. I appreciate it. I did see a couple threads for the same watch on Timezone but I don't know if they ever found a buyer. I guess it's worth trying a couple venues, though.

I think Fidel is correct, you might have better chances selling it on your local classifieds or eBay.
