trip report: can you get drunk off amaretto?

batten the fucking hatches, laddies. we are in a rough situation

the liquor is gone

there is no rum, there is no whiskey, and there sure as hell isn't any scotch. all there is is various sorts of liqueur; not even the strong stuff, like ouzo. all there is is vermouth and disgusting crap like baileys, and that schnapps with gold flakes in it

and so it is that i turn to the disaronno. i usually only drink amaretto in godfathers (2 parts gin, 2 parts blended scotch, 1 part amaretto) and i stopped drinking those a year ago after an unfortunate event

today i will find out whether you can get drunk off amaretto

4:21pm if i didn't like almonds, this would be like drinking perfume. the bottle says 28% ABV; i wonder how much sugar shit shit has in it

I wouldn't recommend drinking any of them by themselves, but it would at least get you drunk faster.

Do you have anything to doctor it? Lemon? Bitters even? I think even two glasses would be too much of anything that sweet.

I would. I have drank goldschlager straight once (college class, I had an empty water bottle on me, and being clear, it seemed like a good idea (I also don't care for vodka straight)) and it wasn't that bad. Amaretto or baileys straight just doesn't sound good at all.

4:35pm this is a very heavy, sugary sort of high. my brain feels like molasses, although that could be because i smoked all those blunts yesterday i'm going to add some lemon to this, and after this glass im going to down some goldschlager i guess

yeah. they say diabetes skips a generation, but my dad has it and my grandfather (on the other side) had it too, so i'm dead no matter what. it's why i don't eat sweets at all anyway, 4:47pm i just sneezed five times. what are you doing to me, disaronno

I'd much rather do bailey's on the rocks vs amaretto straight. But it sounds to me you're on a singular purpose: getting shitfaced before 5:01pm.

just to disprove the guy above me, it is now... 5:31pm good times imo. a little digging online has shown that amaretto was conceived as a result of the illicit affair between bernardino luini and the local baker's wife or somesuch, who modeled nude for him for some reason, this stuff haunts me

goldschlager and jager = liquid cocaine. One of my good friends got arrested while on this toxic blend. Dangerous.
