ESPN has a similar story, though with no mention of swine flu. I'm not a member, but I saw a copy of the Rivals story that explicitly said it's not swine flu.

He's expected to play. It says he's been sick for a few days. I'm sure he's full of anti-viral meds - he'll be OK.

^You really thought they looked "impressive"? To me, they looked like a team with a lot of talent and gimmicky coaching that aren't quite ready to contend with other BCS teams. That's not a big dig on Boise State, they just haven't proven to be consistently good against high-quality teams. They did beat Oklahoma, but when people talk about it they talk about the Statue of Liberty, which is kinda...cheap. Still though, I think in 5-10 years Boise State will strengthen their schedule and probably be in the discussion a good bit. They're a great team, I just don't think they're quite there yet. Special teams problems (I know, I know), an semi-unorthodox playbook, and young coaching/recruiting aren't holding them back too much right now, but I think they'll improve a ton over time. One of the commentators said it best I think. Boise State does really well against one or two ranked teams a year but they don't seem ready to put it together week after week. The Boise law enforcement ranking officer has announced that if there are any criminal charges to be filed against Blount it would be news to him. A couple of analysts on Sportscenter have said that the Blount conversation should start with Howe, the BSU player who first engaged Blount. They are saying that you should never taunt the other team win or lose, and you should definitely never touch them, because "once you touch an opponent, it's on". Am I the only one who thinks that type of statement makes football players seem like animals in a zoo? "Don't taunt them, for they know not what they do!" Uggh...

Hout (not Howe) didn't deserve that. Shit-talking is a part of the game.

Blount punched him, which wasn't too bad.

Punching his teammates and trying to take down cops and fans is what should get him kicked off the team. He's a douchebag.

Sooners are gonna take big xii south this year, and they'll go bowling... i just hope for my sake and everyone elses they don't lose it come January as has been the unfortunate case each season of the stoops era.

Not looking good for OU. Bradford is out and there o-line is struggling. That's what happens with 4 new starters on the o-line.

Notre Dame 35, Nevada 0 Here's hoping Clausen looks as good against Michigan next week.

Michigan looked good today; Ohio State, not so much despite the win.

VT and Alabama have a good game going right now.

Oklahoma, where is your God now?!?! Looks like your QB just dropped out of the Heisman race. Now they need to win the Big XII and hope for a lot of other teams to lose to have hopes for the NC. If past seasons are indicators, you can bet on a lot of that happening.

http://deadspin.com/5346198/ohio-sta...r-five-seconds "I like to believe there was a time when you would not have had to remind your audience that booing the military is impolite, but we are talking about Ohio Stadium. They'll burn that place to the ground before they acknowledge the Coast Guard!" No truer words have been spoken.

Week 1 was scary for lots of teams, WOW. Competition looks good this year! I enjoyed the WA huskies game myself. And I was impressed by the BYU head coach, Bronco, I thought that was a classy thing he said and he kept his composure intact, top notch in my book.
