Can any NYers tell us whether the weather looks like tennis will be possible today? The start of the scheduled matches keeps getting pushed farther and farther back.

It has briefly stopped raining but before that it was pretty bad all day.

From the radar it looks like the rain won't be stopping anytime soon.

Today's session has finally been canceled. It'll be interesting to see how tournament organizers fit all the matches in tomorrow, weather permitting.

They probably won't; tournament will go to monday I would think.

del Potro is pretty awesome.

Get a roof already. From the players point of view its pretty rediculous, SI was saying Nadal and Gonzalez basically sat in the cafeteria for 9 hours today because they "might play". Aus open has 3 roofed courts, Wimbledons got one now, French in next couple years. Serena basically can't lose the womens and the mens could really go to Fed/Nadal/Djokovic the way i see it.

What a horrendous display from Gonzo today. 6-0 after getting almost a day break? I want to see DelPotro beat Nadal, and then go on to face Federer.

Del Potro is has a good shot at taking Nadal. This is going to be a good semi-final.
I agree. DelPotro quietly made his way to the semi's, hardly any trouble. If he keeps up his serve and destroys Nadal's 2nd serve return, he'll win. He also has to stop Nadal from his topspin shots, and just go for the winners.

It really sucks when players have to lose their momentum because of weather conditions. Unfortunately, it would be a huge expense to add a roof to Arthur Ashe. They should have incorporated it into the original design.

Shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up. Tennis was meant to be played outdoors.
