P.S. I once asked why there're 2 Brioni stores so close together and I was told the 57 St. is geared toward out-of-towners while 52 St. is more like a neighborhood store targeting locals. If there's a such thing as a local neighborhood Brioni store, it only exists in New York.
I got the monks at 57 and the suede laceups at 52.
Interestingly, the shoe selection is very different at the two stores. 52 has mainly English looking shoes, and 57 has English looking and a few vintage Lattanzi (not the crazy looking ones) models. Beverly Hills has a great selection of the Bentivegna style which is Lattanzi's signiture shoe. The prices of the Bentivegna are 1/2 what they are at Lattanzi's boutique. Beverly Hills also has Lattanzi driving shoes and loafers which are beautiful but more extravagent than even I can justify.
The best looking shoe that Lattanzi makes for Brioni is a butterfly front monkstrap. It is displayed at the 52nd street store as you enter from inside the shopping arcade (may not be there anymore), but they said that only Vegas stocked the shoe. It is the best looking shoe I have ever seen.
Bill- The suede on that shoe feels even better than it looks
