Why hate the navy blazer? - Page 2

I couldn't live without my navy blazer. It is something every man should own at some stage in his life.

Don't hate the Blazer. Hate the buttons.

I find the dark brown odd-jacket to be a lot more versatile than the navy one. And of course, I just can't see myself wearing one of those brass buttons ornamented abomination. !luc

I don't see the hate for the brass buttons... but whatever. I only like navy blazers when they're cut well and aren't a sack from Brooks Brothers or Ralph Lauren's main line.

LOL. So true. My next blazer may have metal buttons, but they will *not* be gold.

But are not the buttons a defining element of the blazer? Take away the gilt and aren't you left with a navy odd jacket?

Why hate opera pumps?

I personally love blue blazers. Brass buttons or no, they're a staple of the wel-dresed man.

Because is...because is...for me it lacks flair or interest, like the Bush administration (either). I prefer pale salmon linen, sewn by Kiton. Charcoal herringbone wool, for fall and winter. Even plaid, if not of a dogbed pattern.

John, you're a baddass. The blazer is for guys who are scared of color.
