What do you do when you are walking towards someone? (you don't know them) - Page 2

I live in quiet suburb, so you don't see many people walking around the street. If I am, and I see someone, I'll say hi and keep walking. If it's in a really crowded spot and there are people everywhere, I just keep walking... It all depends on the context of the situation. I think a lot of people here live in bustling city streets where it would be pretty weird to say "hi" to everyone... Or even nod/smile at them. If it's a quiet area and there's just two of you, it becomes a different question.

The worst situation is when you get one of those kids that thinks they're some kind of gangster, and they've got that huge strut and look as if they'll kill you if you smile at them, it's a decision between laughing in their face or just keeping your head down and walking on thinking quietly to yourself "what an idiot".

I usually just laugh then get harrassed. They aren't as hard as they think.

In most typical situations I avoid eye contact.
