Betcha one way or the other g33k is going to tell us that he manned up and put his foot down, and the dude gave him the iPhone plus his money back for all his trouble.

Then, because g33k displayed such masculine power the owner offered him use of his wife and daughter for cooking, general housekeeping, and carnal pleasures.

G33k, you should call every carrier that they service in that store and report what happened, ASAP. Get somebody from one of the carriers to call the store. That alone will carry more weight than your intent to sue which, at this point, is worth less than the piece of paper it's printed on.

Even if they are running some sort of scam, I can't imagine going to court with me would be worth it for them over a single iPhone. I checked around and they're not really advertising iPhones, which they would be doing if they were planning a "go out of business and steal as much money beforehand as possible" routine, so I'm hopeful that it will all be ok.

Dude. Dude!

There's no reason he couldn't give you a refund on the spot. I can understand him not having that much cash on hand, but you should have gotten a check at minimum. If you walk into that store again, leave with your money or the phone or kiss your money goodbye.

Why the hell would you get an iPhone if you weren't interested in a data plan?? If you do get your phone, you'll not have any warranty coverage or opportunity for Applecare extended service. What a waste of $775.
