What jacket to wear with these?

I bought these pants on sale because they looked fun. But I've realized I have a problem; I'm not sure what pattern/color/material jacket I could pull off wearing with them. The pants are a very assertive glen plaid (see pic). Sorry for the angle, but it's hard to photograph yourself!

TIA.

I have a pair of black/white PoW check trousers that I wear with a dark dark charcoal jacket that has dark dark blue plaid print (almost looks black from a distance)...but i suppose any solid jacket in the base color of the glen plaid should look nice.

Hmmm. It looks like a light shade of sage on my monitor.

Dare I offer the opinion of a blue blazer?

Don't do it. Don't smoke. Don't do lines. And don't wear a navy blazer.

Navy cashmere jacket, dark gray with subtle herringbone tweed jacket, corduroy jacket, black jacket would look good, etc.

Also, a brown leather bomber like this one would look great and add to the Indiana Jones look in a good way:

I don't have a blue blazer, although I figured that would be a safe choice (usually is, unless you're wearing navy pants...). I do have a black-on-black herringbone silk sportscoat from STP (actually looks kind of charcoal-y). I don't have any corduroy either.

As for the color, it's a little bit hard to make out given the complexity of the weave, but it is a kind of gray/sage mix. Thanks again for all the input, everyone.

Framing your argument like that makes wearing a blue blazer a must for all us coool folks.

Sorry, no. Matching the colors is one of the few things not to do. Another is wearing the same pattern on top. That's to avoid looking like trying to create a suit from separates.

A blue blazer or solid charcoal jacket would work for just about anyone. There are many other options, but their acceptability depends on age, physical characteristics, and situation.
