Found It!

Well I think I lost my Nomos watch. I figure if someone finds it, he will probably google the brand, and perhaps stumble upon this thread. Maybe PM me. It is not a super expensive watch, but I was very attached to it. Reward of course, you name it.

Would have been found near the tennis courts off Rindge road in Cambridge, MA or somewhere in Somerville near Cambridge.

Fuck

Hail Mary, full of grace...

Good luck with finding it! You'll be pleased to know that if somebody Googles "lost Nomos", this topic is the first result...

That is really unfortunate. I hope someone finds it and does the right thing.

It's no Fossil or Kenneth Cole, so this might actually happen. I am regretting, however, the clear case back.

Have you checked that this is not covered by your insurance policy?

What insurance policy do you mean? I rent, and don't have renter's insurance or separate insurance on the watch. I don't think Mastercard or Watchbuys has any policy for these things, right?

That rots.

American Express cards (Platinum for sure) has a policy for things such as jewelry-- they replace lost and stolen items. A friend lost a pair of recently purchased diamond earrings, phoned AMEX, and they replaced them without much hassle. Not sure about your MasterCard, though it is worth a look. Best of luck! -b

Bill would you mind taking a walk up to Rindge and looking around a bit? You could visit Gary too.

I have an AMEX but I didn't purchase the watch on it. I'll check with MC.

Renter's, homeowner's or umbrella policy; credit card insurance.

I don't have a mental picture of any tennis courts on Rindge near the Somerville line.

Anyway, that's a sweet number and I hope that it turns up for you.

You could do the classic Cantabrigian thing and put up an award for lost cat poster with those rip away numbers at the bottom...but instead of a cat, use a photograph of your watch looking forlorn.

There should be implied StyleForvm insurance for any watches posted in this thread. As OP, you should discuss this with the mods.

Checked with MC and they cover 3 months past purchase. Honestly had it been within 3 months, I wouldn't be nearly as upset, but that watch has grown on me for 2 years. Within 3 months, it's still just a piece of metal (though obviously the financial hit still stings).

I was kidding (of course you know that), but for your reference, there is a pretty nice park off Rindge if you take your immediate legal left after turning off Mass Ave. Tennis courts, wall, picnic tables, public garden, largish playground, full size baseball field. Etc. I'm not talking about the one on the Alewife side.
