It looks like I will have about 5 hours in Miami sometime soon, with a rental car. what should I do/see?

also, what is a good place to eat? I am leaning towards cuban.

thanks

You will not be disappointed if you get a cubano sandwich just about anywhere... Cubanos in Miami are like Pizza in NY. Some are better than others, but if you don't do it well, you're out of business pretty fast. If you want a more robust cuban meal, I don't know too much.. but for new American food, Chef Allen's in Aventura is quite good.

So obviously you posted more than five hours ago, but if anyone is ever in Miami and wants a real taste of Cubano, check out Palacio de los Jugos on Flagler between 57th and 58th. This is as legit as it gets.

Get a mojito and sit out by the beach. Relax yourself for a few hours and enjoy the nice ocean weather.

Smoked fish and cold beer at Jimbo's. Definitely one of the odder "local" experiences I've had but then again I like things off the beaten path even as "famous" as it is. I'll second the mojito recommendation. I wasn't too big on the places along Ocean but found a decent spot over on Española.

You could go to south beach, but 4 hours of your time would be sitting in traffic.

There is this, which looks interesting:

obtained from here:

Can't make any direct recommendations though, I have not been there in a while, I am currently in the fort lauderdale area, and though it is boring I rarely venture past the shops at bal harbour.

With only 4 hours you're not going to be able to get much done. Are you looking to go to a museum or something along those lines?
