My Belgian B'day - In Pics

My birthday fell on a Monday this year...Aug 24...which is also NATIONAL WAFFLE DAY! Rather than lament going to work and having few people come out on my birthday, a select few descended upon Petite Abeille on W B'way to take advantage of 1/2 price Belgian imports and assorted other things that make life worth living. I highly recommend going if you have a case of the Monday blues. Enjoy!

1. Birthday mussels, calamari and frites!

2. Birthday booze (there was more!)

3. Birthday Waffle

Ah Petite Abeille. Nice place. I like the garden at the 17th street one. Happy belated.

I went to me Belgian friend's wedding earlier this year. Wedding was in the US as he's been here since young but he had meatballs and french fries at his wedding. Said it's traditional?

Can't wait to get back to Brussels. I'm not a huge fan of mussels (I prefer that my bivalves taste less like dirt) but the meatballs and fries there are awesome. And the beer . . . the beer.

Me too. I loved it there, even if it was only a week's vacation. I'm jealous of you moving there Big A.
