hi Guys,

Interesting times in Northampton as a raft of samples have come to the shelves. They are not 'competitively priced'

so I won't be boring you with too many.

C & J produce their samples in UK 7.5 . Some are named, some are not!

However, the Downing featured below is a UK 9..... no idea why ???.... will add others to this thread in future weeks.

Nice, salsa. The wingtip especially.

Does anyone know how the 330 last compares to the 341? Is it any narrower in the instep?

What's the damage -- price -- on the Crockett & Jones "Grasmere" Dark Brown Cordovan on a double leather sole? They look very nice...same can be said for the handgrade wingtips.

The handgrade looks to be on the 348 Last.

Upon viewing the C&J web site, it must be the 337 then. All their handgrade shoes are on the 337 Last, at least according to what they display for their RTW offerings.

It appears too pointy to be on the 337.

The Downing is an old Handgrade model (and a very nice-looking one at that). There's still a few pairs available at Ben Silver.

They have a really nice Burgundy Downing model on sale at Ben Silver. Just a hair too small for me, which is probably a good thing
