The only brand I know of that makes laptop locks is Kensington. I considered buying from them until I saw videos on Youtube showing how easy it is to pick these locks. Now I don't know what brand to buy.

I have these as well as a brown pair of very similar but not identical ones. (can't remember the model name.) They're just a classic styled, non-bulky loafer. So many today have that ridiculous...

I got these during a seconds sale for a great price, but found that the 8D looked very blobby - the cap toe portion was very large, leading to a shape that was not very flattering. Ended up...

I don't know if I have this exact pair, but I own a few pair of Thomas Pink OTC socks that I am quite fond of. They are very similar to Pantherella wool OTC socks. All mine have been given to me...

Yes, they're easy to pick, but there aren't really any other options. They've never been more than the most casual of theft deterrents.

I remember reading in Inc. Magazine about a company that bought Laptops to increase employee productivity through mobility then faced with the same problem you are faced with they bolted them to the desks.
Right after 2000, my office made laptops available to anyone that wanted when the 2-year upgrade came around. From what I heard, 20% were stolen, lost, or dropped. Then there were all the problems that come from people using them as personal computers at home, while they were crammed with confidential work data. Now, you pretty much need authorization from the CEO to get a laptop.
The best security for a laptop is don't leave it unattended and visible - take it with you or lock it in a drawer.

Wow, googled the vid and they unlock it with a toilet roll tube.
I use one for keeping my laptop locked while I take a leak in a coffee shop / pub, but only because I figure that the odds of someone pulling something like that in a public place during the couple of minutes I am gone are quite small.
Those are probably more of a theft of opportunity than a case where someone is carrying around the appropriate tools...
