I'm interested in cars, but this subforum ain't cutting it. Anyone here know of any good ones that have pretty knowledgeable people and all types of cars if possible?

I used to be active on www.germancarzone.com quite a lot -- It is a very international site, has some great members ...some are very knowledgeable.

rennlist.com is great IMO.

The saab network is excellent for saabs.

http://www.saabnet.com/

I was on it through the 90s (possible late 80s) and until a few years ago when my last pre GM saab was crashed.

It's easier to find forums for specific car models. General forums tend to have less information/expertise/users.

The Car Lounge. This is one of the biggest, most knowedgable car forums out there http://forums.motivemag.com/zeroforum?id=1 Good articles on the main page oto http://www.motivemag.com/index.html

+1, I don't like the general car forums, but the forums for a specific brand are really great.

I tend to like www.6speedonline.com, it tends to be more biased towards Porsches, but there's vast sub-forums geared towards many makes and models (with the majority of posters being actual owners), ranging from Ferrari's and Audi R8's to the Ford GT and Nissan GTR.

I love the fact, that a considerable amount of the members are actual car people, and not one of those only caught up in manufacturer label.

General Forums are usually not nearly as useful. The great thing about the specialized forums is that people have great tips and tricks for diagnosing or resolving little problems.

From what I gathered, the OP doesn't seem interested in one particular brand or model, he seems to be looking at information on various makes.

http://forums.vwvortex.com/ is an excellent source for Volkswagen cars, although their grouping leaves a bit to be desired (Jetta paired with the Golf/Rabbit), etc.

As had been mentioned the best car sites are the ones that are focused on specific cars. www.vwvortex.com is good for any of the V.A.G cars (Audi VW, Bentley, Lamborghini, & Skoda) but best for VW cars while www.quattroworld.com is excellent for Audi cars. For anything Land Rover, www.landroversonly.com is an excellent site.

Benzworld.org and mbworld.org for MB's.
