I've been wearing t-shirts, Basic looking American Eagle boot-cut Jeans and brown Doc Martens boots(I have flat feet) for 10 years now...Mostly because I don't really know how to dress. But the Doc Martens are something I can't help... other shoes or boots hurt my feet.

Can anybody recommend me anything that looks "good enough" and budget priced for everyday occasions?

What colors usually matches jeans the most? Someone told me not to wear dark blue or light blue.

thanks

experiment with t-shirt colours, and the cuts of your jeans. simple stuff like that makes a difference.

If your mall has a J.Crew, start there. Tt's a good transitional store, and the stuff will blend with your AE clothing seamlessly.

Try and switch over to Levi's. The have a slim bootcut that is great, especially if your really skinny.

That really depends on the color of your jeans and the color of your skin. Some blues go together, some don't. If reds look good on you they will also look good with your jeans. Contrasting colors are certainly a safe place to start.

Also, just start paying attention. You'll notice what other people are wearing, find out what you like and what you don't, and begin to have ideas of your own.

Thank's guys for the help. I'm suprised nobody said Old Navy. They must be bad or somethign.. They're fairly cheap too. But I will start with J-crew.

Keep lurking, you'll get a taste for what you like.

Lots of varied styles, but I think just about all would be considered "stylish" in their own right. Choose an idea and go with it.

Old Navy's not bad; it's just not an improvement from American Eagle. Trust me, you need J. Crew more than you do Old Navy. Good luck.

Hit up some resale shops and try and find some vintage Levis 501s. Kent actually got me into Nudies brand jeans. They are fairly cheap compared to other jeans. Polos always look good. I'm flat footed too, but I wear all sorts of shoes. Try anything with a high top. *hint hint* Chucks. If you are some what skinny, try some slim fit jeans, Lucky brand makes some that are in your price range, but you will need "smaller" shoes. Chucks or Pumas will suffice on a smaller budget.

Hair and eye color, too.

"TshirtandJeans" sounds rather limited. A polo shirt would be a good start. Maybe some relatively conservative cargo pants.

If one has orthotics, flat feet shouldn't limit a guy to Doc Martens.

Cooler t shirts? Better fitting jeans? Maybe a nice pair of shoes? Quality accessories?
