How should I cut/style my hair?

I don't know how to style my hair. It's not really curly, but not straight either. I guess you could call it wavy, but I don't know. My hair is pretty thick and can get frizzy.

I've been getting my hair cut the same way for a while now, but now I just want to cut/style my hair at the advice of those who are better fit to give an opinion. I was thinking about just going in a hair salon and telling someone to cut it the way they want, but that seems a little risky, so I figured I'd get some opinions on the internet first.

Anyway, here are three pictures. Sorry for my poor picture-taking skills and/or the quality. (And yes, I know I need to lose weight. I've been going to the gym about five times a week recently trying to do so.)

Note also: I haven't gotten my hair cut in about a month or two, so it probably doesn't look as "good" as usual. When I get my hair cut, I get it thinned out, but the only problem with that is it leaves little stringy hairs that sort of stick out randomly.

So how do you think I should get my hair cut and styled? Pictures of the cut/style you have in mind would be appreciated.

Somehow "potential" doesn't sound like a good thing here.

your forehead is HUGE. The part down the middle isn't working for you, nor does it work for anyone else. Your facial structure is large and round, framing it with the parted hair on each side isn't helping.
Big Punisher, it wasn't just the henny, I had a good laugh at this too.

It's perhaps not "recent" but Alec Baldwin isn't a lightweight and I think this helps with that.

So how do you recommend I cut/style my hair, then?

Bangs?

Don't mess it with, like putting in that part... Only push it off to one side. Just wash it, towel dry it, and let it be. If that fails, get it cut even shorter, enough to stop it from making any curls, and just get some wax and work it around... lol, bangs with curly hair? If you really want to try something different, just let it grow out to your shoulders, and get it cut to whatever length in between you like. And get a barber.
