I get a lot of "what are those?" comments, but I don't bother to explain my fetish. The first day I wore my Sammies out, a couple people asked if they were new Levis. But the most comments I get are on my Evisus, everyone asks what the gulls are. Which is kind of sad, because they're really not the best jeans.

When I wear Nudies I get compliments from white people. When I wear Japanese jeans I get compliments from Asian people. This Japanese guy was really into my Somets, haha. oops.

She's a keeper

An ex noted how odd it was to see a pair of rigid jeans lying on the floor. She commented that it looked like a ghost was wearing them since they held their shape, especially through the legs.

That guy really endeared himself to everyone and will not be getting invited back out again.
You're lucky. Everyone here just thinks I'm gay. Which is insulting, because the gays here just wear all the typical AmJack crap one size too small.

only when I walk into Blue in Green.

i'm very happy with the fact that only one person has ever asked me about my jeans, and that was a store employee who almost certainly read superfuture.

i don't need/want attention; i guess if i did i would like diesel or nudie or something like that. not fake levis.

+1 if someone is asking about my jeans, i get skeered
post #56 of 152
it's not just getting "skeered" i just don't know what to say when someone compliments an article of clothing. over the past two days i got compliments about my shoes, and i didn't know what to say other than "thank you, i appreciate it." should i provide more information? it would be impossible for them to find something similar if i didn't but i don't want to sound like i'm bragging. just creates awkwardness.

i usually talk until they walk off... 5 seconds or less when it has to do with the awesomeness of my super rare japanese virgin dyed jeans.

However, I do get compliments on my jeans from lots of people simply because nobody's really aware of the dry/raw/selvedge denim trend where I'm from, and I think they're impressed by my PBJs and Nudies simply because they're really dark, have a nice fit, and are sort of "shiny".

I got a bunch of compliments from a ton of people when I was wearing my SDA 103s. One girl freaked out at the 'hairness' and said that she had never seen anything like it. I think the SDA's seemed like upscale jeans to everyone who saw them, and they just assumed that they were awesome. They, unfortunately, were not long enough, so they had to go. My Samurai's have recieved no verbal compliments from strangers, however, they have gotten a ton of intense stares by girls sitting next to me in class. I don't think people quite know what to make of them due to the slub and lack of back pocket stitching. I've been into a Ralph Lauren, Ben Silver, Gucci and a Lacoste store with them on and nobody seems to know what to think. People don't disregard them, though. I also need every inch of the inseam, so no cuffing to show off the amazing details.

I've also been trying to educate anyone who will listen to my tale of selvage. Right now, my roomate, my suitmate and two people down the hall have purchased dry jeans (APC, Sam, SDA, and APC respectively).
