I wouldn't have even registered that as a Windows logo unless you had said something. So it must not be that good. The jaunty angle and the "wave" are essential!

Because you like all things olden; just because the logo was designed long ago doesn't make it a bad logo, after all didn't you post a picture of the Montblanc logo?

Ditto, if you showed me just the logo, I would've never guessed that it referred to Windows.

I like the BP sunburst logo but the positioning of the 'bp' letters is just awkward. It feels like it doesn't belong.

Kent, I like the font "Sauna" a lot - in fact, Underware is my favorite font firm, bar-none. I think the curves in this font do well to match the elegant curves of the Pelican, and the serifs are very modern - a bonus (I think) to a web-design company. As for the BP logo, that font placement is actually not their usual one, and I agree, I don't really like it. I just picked that logo file to show because it was the best representation of the starburst mark that I could find.

My comment was actually meant as a compliment towards the Mobil logo.

If the Porsche logo were designed today, already knowing what Porsche cars are like, I dont think the crest would exist, at least in the form it does now.

I beg to differ.

yes, I know I'm responding to a old post. I don't care.

Sorry, but that's just incredibly ugly.

Your contention was that it was not possible to display the crest in black and white. Is very easily done, as seen above. Whether or not you like the particular look or not does not matter.
