Andrew I love the pebble grain on your captoes.

Bill, RJ, Thinman and Denning....Thanks for the props on the pebble grain, much appreciated. I don't recall seeing this type of finish on an oxford.

RJ, did you miss the sale or was there nothing that moved you?

I guess my resistance is stronger than I thought. I just (finally) passed on these. Would be great for summer, but $250's still a bit of change when I've already got dirty bucks.

How many did you end up getting, Chorse? Any?

I debated. I hemmed. I hawed. I consulted others. But in the end I decided with a bespoke cotton suit order (albeit Indian) and a bespoke multiple shirt order (albeit Janztenian) pending, I would probably be pushing my luck. So zippo, zilch, nada.

Pathetically, I kept an eye out on my Blackberry. However, nothing jumped out at me. Granted, those images on a Blackberry were pretty damn small. Now if they'd had the butterfly loafer in my size...

I dunno. I realize at this point that I have more clothes than I need and that my future purchases need to be considered. There are one or two shoe designs I really want but apart from that, I'd best hold out.

Like Chorse, my pending bespoke suit order (Poole's) and shirt order (Charvet #2) were of influence in my decision.

RJman, re your signature, I noticed that quote too, but couldn't figure out how Andy could possibly fit either description (the less negative being the "unmade bed"). Who is this guy, Marc "Grayson"? All of this backstory must have occurred before my time on the forums. Was it a picture of him (cutting off the face) that constituted your avatar for a while? Pray provide some details!

Heartbreaking, but I'm sure it'll be a treat when the credit card bill comes due.

The $250 price tag took some of the deal lure away for me (I'm not saying it wasn't a good deal), but I have my STP Haspel seersucker on order and, I fear, the Taxman Cometh.

Me too.

So yesterday was Christmas, as Santa Chris of Bennies Shoes left a package on my doorstep. I now own a beautiful pair of Stowe wholecuts, but unfortunately the loafers I bought are too small (see the Buying and Selling forum). The wholecuts are actually the same style that Ambulance Chaser bought, with a mix of calfskin and suede and I love them:

The only question now is what to wear them with: jeans (I don't think so)? cords (yes)? suits (maybe flannel?)? What think ye?

Tweed suit. Maybe brown or charcoal herringbone. Cords seem a bit casual for a bal, but maybe the right pair, dressed up.
