cordless phones

Thread Starter
So I need three new cordless phones at home. I don't necessarily care if they are part of the same "system", meaning, a main unit plus two other base units versus three phones all on the same line.

But I'll be damned if I can find anything that's not a cheap piece of #$#^&$#&$^. The last go 'round were a pair from GE. terrible earpiece/volume control, awful battery and cheaply made.

And I won't be dropping a grand on three from B&O

Any recommendations?

I'm with you, C.G. I thought I had found one via amazon... after months of looking. When I put it into use, part of the software in it actually had an error in it. Plus the thing felt like a piece of junk. Very cheap ass plastic garbage. The sound was cranked up to tinny levels (sounding like tin) - it was all around awful. I sent it back.

I don't really like the B&O phones, either. They are obviously priced at silly-high levels - but even if they were about 1/2 price I still wouldn't get one. They just aren't that good.

I long for the days when phones were made in a solid fashion so the phone company didn't have to come out and fix it ever.

Hard to go wrong with Panasonic. Solid construction and performance.

Newegg.com > Electronics > Cordless Phones > Panasonic > Handsets : 3X

Take your pick.

I have a Panasonic, have had them for years and never had a problem. I would highly recommend them.

Another vote for Panasonic. I've had two Panasonic cordless phones/answering machines over the past 15 years, and the current one is about a decade old and still going strong. The only reason I upgraded from the previous one is because I wanted a digital, rather than tape, answering machine. Unless they've gone downhill over the past decade, they are well made, with good features, and they don't break.
