www.abcbodybuilding.com and www.bodybuilding.com I prefer the former to the latter, but I haven't been on either in a long while. The programs you find on ABC though are top notch and their diet plans are the same. Lots of reading. The latter forum is alright, and there are some good people on there that really know their stuff. Depends on what you're looking for. ABC is more scientific in their approach to bodybuilding. BB.com is a bit more traditional.

what about tnation? Any good? Or are they mostly pushing product (v-diet etc?)
My experience with T Nation is limited but I wouldn't worry about them pushing product. Every bodybuilding forum has some product that they're obligated to show favor to simply because they help finance the site. Asking the more experienced members what they use for supplementation is usually the best route. All you really need is a good quality Whey Protein shake. I use Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard. It's cheap, you get a lot for your money, and it's high quality protein. Other supplements are dependent on how you look at bodybuilding. For some, even though they don't compete, bodybuilding is a way of life, so they have tons of supplements to help them get jacked. For someone who's into lifting and wants a really good looking physique, then you can stick to just protein. It really depends on how involved you want to get.

what type of information are you looking for specifically? certain boards have their "specialty"

anabolicminds - grey market supplements/prohormones/peptides

professionalmuscle- adult discussion, fewer kids and bickering, pros post there, smallish, easier to keep up with

musclemayhem- used to be really good back in the day

anabolex- big steroid board

getbig-children and gossip, usually best to avoid

bodybuilding.com- lots of high school drama IMO

www.wannabebig.com is not bad.

Honestly, there's only so much you can gain from a forum, unless you're a complete newb.

They're a decent place to get started. Especially since they have a shit ton of workout programs and a lot of things that beginners can find useful, like customizable workout logs and their own store. Iron Addicts ain't bad. I mostly stuck around ABC Bodybuilding.com and just lurked on Iron Addicts and a few other sites that I can't remember.
