Wow, so what I've gathered is the button-down shirts in size Small have 18" shoulders and 22" pit to pits?? How is that even considered a slim fit, that would fit me and I'm usually a Medium-Large, 6'0 175lb. Are the arm holes low and baggy on these shirts too?

I just got the rosewood saltwash pullover in the mail. It's pretty awesome. For those who are interested, it's a slim fit, quite similar to RL's Custom Fit. This isn't super-skinny, so be warned in advance if you're rail thin. For anyone with an athletic to normal frame, it will fit fine.

The material is a substantial pique cotton, thicker than any other regular polo I have. But the overall shirt is still lighter than a rugby of similar size (which makes sense since most rugbies use a tighter weave). The sleeves have a cuff button and a gauntlet button, which allows you to roll the sleeves up like a dress shirt. It's a killer detail. Basically, I have nothing else like this in my wardrobe. Two thumbs up.

Sounds really nice, can you post up fit pics? Have an athletic frame as well, shirts tend to fit snug in the shoulders and chest and be really loose around the body.

Did you buy any of the buttonup long sleeves as well? Curious about the fit on those.

I'm sure someone has mentioned this, but I looked at the Signature line and it looks like J.Crew.

Though I would definitely get the Marine sweater.

Not sure if I'm doing this right, but I laid the shirt (saltwash pullover, size MEDIUM) out flat and got the following measurements:

Shoulder to shoulder: 17 inches
Pit to pit: 21 inches
Sleeve (starting at shoulder, ending at cuff): 26 inches

Hope this helps.

That helps tremendously. Thank you. If it were me, I would have just ignored everybody and rocked by ******* rugby. You are truly considerate.

I live in Maine and grew up here as well. LL Bean is a stalwart of wardrobe in some permutation in most people's closets. However, in terms of style no young people wore bean with any degree of swagger growi g up. We went here for boots, backpacks and winter coats. I am glad they are moving in this direction especially since i live fifteen minutes from the store and can jump there to try on the new pieces. Hsving said all that the fit still isn't there on these.

I think the company was a bit hesitant to jump into this field with both feet and are still trying to appeal to the middle aged and older group with this stuff. I say just go all the way with it already! I think with the reviews they have received thus far this will grow and hopefully improve. A local television station did a story on the new line for fall and some of it looks pretty fresh...so here is hoping.

Shoulders as wide as RL Classic Fit and super-padded shoulders on the suits kill it for me.
