Anyone get this year's Madras or Linen shirts yet?

I work at LL Bean at the flagship-store in Maine, and also did some designing work for the Signature line/website two months ago. It's not really a big seller in the store itself, mainly because the store is aimed at hunting, fishing, and more "adult" clothing. There's only a tiny section on the second floor for Signature stuff. I been trying to get a coupon going for SF and SuFu for awhile.

I got the linen shirt and the fit was awful. Way too short so I sent it back. Bummer because the material looked great.

any ll bean discount codes?

What about the body/sleeves? Slim fit?

body was like most other Signature shirts. Maybe a touch slimmer. Sleeves were short and length was short on me. Your mileage may vary.

Only had experience with a flannel shirt jac, so I'm guessing you mean blousy?

I saw it posted somewhere and I believe the guy who got the code received it for filling out some online survey a while back. Seems like they chose not to use a one-time use code as a reward.

Anyone tried the 60/40 trail shorts? Seems like a decent alt to pricier models from EG, Mount Rainier, etc. Can't say I love the colors, and I have to wonder about wearing waxed fabric in the summer.

I picked up the crepe sole mocs for $100 shipped and they're really really freakin' nice for the price. Honestly shocked they're this nice for only $100. I plan on wearing them without socks and I'm normally a 10 in nikes or sperrys, but sized down to a 9 1/2. Fit is really good, bit snug on my right foot (10) and perfect on my left (half size smaller, 9 1/2 on brannock device), but the right quickly stretched out to a comfortable fit with no slippage or anything of the sort. I think TTS or 1/2 size down could work for anyone. I definitely recommend these for anyone on the fence about them. edit; picture

I have them. I was happier with them when I first bought them. After a hand wash the denim has that kind of fuzzy surface to it which just makes them seem cheap and takes away from any "character" they might otherwise develop. On the other hand my point of comparison is APCs and relative to those they are literally cheap, so it's partly a matter of getting what you pay for. Anyway, I do still wear them sometimes so it's not all bad.

I've looked at some of the items from the signature line, and while some of their shirts look pretty nice, I don't feel compelled to buy anything when LEC offers similar items at a fraction of the price.

The LEC line conversely, presents it's own set of 'fit' issues...

I suppose J Crew is the standby...
