Am I the only one who really wants to like this, but just doesn't see the appeal of a lot of it? Other than the canvas duckboots, most of this collection seems less interesting than J. Crew. Bummer.

SOme sort of java error on the thumbs.

Looked through the collection. I'm underwhelmed. Looks derivative of all the other similar brands... plaids, flannels... mocs...

AND AGAIN...NO TALL SIZES. J Crew can do this, why not Bean?

I just bought three pairs of the same shoes... and nothing else because it's really boring.

Saw the stuff at Tysons yesterday. Couldn't help but suspect there may have been another SFer or two there?

Anyway, the shoes are the standouts, by FAR--the boat moc with a leather sole was interesting and the pebbled leather used on some shoes was nicer than I expected. Some of the pants are OK--I like the fabric but the fit suffers from the same baggy thigh issues as most J crew.

I will say the twill blazer fit me exceedingly well off the rack in my size (42R). Shirts I'm a medium, and they're longer (IME) than J crew's mediums. Cotton sweaters didn't seem too special, and the "archive" field jacket was meh.

Canvas duffle is neat and well-priced, but I don't know what I'd do with it.

Bottom line is--j crew is still doing this stuff better, but it's not a bad shot, just very very safe. Natan's head would explode if he tried this stuff on.

Pretty much what i expected, but less oxford shirts. Standouts are the shoes, both mocs and chukka bucks (I wonder if EE sizes will eventually show up), the hunting jacket and perhaps that red weekend bag.

Love the canvas cloth pants in dark red. Probably getting those and the navy suede mocs.
