I was kind of surprised Eve wasn't canned in the first episode. She definitely deserved it after that shrimp and popcorn load of crap.
With their cleanup of episode 2 the Volt brothers look to be extremely strong competition, along with "Big Red" Kevin (episode 1 Elimination winner), and the fiery, or as Manton puts it "Bitchy", Jen (Episode 1 Quickfire winner). There are a couple other solid chefs in there but they aren't quite up to the top 4's levels of skill. There are also some ghosts in competition as well, Laurine got like 1 minute of camera time between the first two episodes and token gay guy Ash is...the token gay guy. That Mike guy is a HUGE asshole. He seems like he has a solid set of skills but he really has a mouth. I feel like Jen and Mike are going to clash at some point, big time.
Agree with all of this, and was definitely hoping to see Eve go last week. Jennifer Z's dish was a mess, but it seemed as though she at least brought some creativity and had some ideas about what she wanted to do. Eve just seemed like a disaster every time she was on screen, but I may be letting her annoying voice and facial expressions influence my judgement.
For someone who prides herself on making boys cry in the kitchen, Jen C was awfully cranky about being given the opportunity to do so by beating the men in this challenge.
