alfred sergent?

some low quality bullshit right here. why wouldn't you just buy john lobb instead?

Teger, I don't think you know what you are talking about. Alfred Sargent --> Lobb is not the same comparison i am trying to make... those are obviously both highly constructed, quality shoes, good year welted, good leather, etc... sure lobb is above and beyond, but its not the same as my fused vs canvas discussion...

Raf suits are fine. I would worry more about the materials then the fused/canvassed aspect. I would rather spring a little more money and get a Jil suit instead.

you realize that your quality arguments are just imaginary lines in the sand, right? to you the quality differences between a well constructed, yet fused, designer suit and a cheaply made canvassed suit are huge, while to others the differences between cheaply made alfred sergants and john lobbs are just as gigantic

irony

are you a complete idiot?
Fused vs Canvas has to do with how it is constructed, and what follows due to being constructed that way

What is the huge different in construction of alfred sargent vs john lobb?
This isn't comparing someones $300 gucci shoes to john lobb, these are two english shoe makers

What is so hard to understand?

do I need to seriously explain this? first off while some fused designer suits might be very shitty, there are many that aren't (thus your assumption that a fused suit is automatically of poor quality). while there might be a difference in the long run, after years of frequent wear, this doesn't really matter for most of the posters in this forum who are buying the suits, because they aren't wearing the suit very often, or, if they are, would rather have 5 years of looking stylish than 50 years of looking dowdy. this forum values fit and value more than pure quality. there are many well made pieces that I would never because they fit and look like shit. and, just like in shoes, quality in a suit (and desirability) is determined by much more than construction.

Depends on you. Is 500 dollars a lot of money for you? Have you tried on Raf suits before? Its a pretty slim cut and doesn't necessarily fit everyone perfectly. Do you really need a plain black suit that you can only wear out at night and funerals? Is it going to get a lot of wear and cleaning?

Its an fine suit, not great, but you shouldn't just buy it cause its cheap. I have no idea how Raf suits hold up to washings because I do not have one, but I can only assume as a casual suit it will last you a long time.
