The EG hoodies I've seen certainly didn't seem of lesser quality than the Spruce ones. Anyway it's not like hoodies autodestruct so the current obsession with quality as a justification to high pricing kinda baffles me. Considering the price point I expect W+H and EG to be well made but what really interest me in their offerings is the materials used and innovative/interesting design.

Those are quite interesting but I didn't buy one for three reasons:

1)The cotton feels rather rough
2)The neck zipper is damn hard to zip/unzip (tried more than one hoodie before deciding this was a general problem) and this kept annoying me
3) I rarely care about this but I feel you need to be slightly taller than me to have it fall at the right spot and gives the expected effect. If you're too tall it also looks odd as you loose part of the elongated top effect.

Now that being said those look damn cool in a The man who fell to earth meets anime kinda way. I especially like the dark grey colorway.

do you mean the canvas jacket or the hoodie? Unfortunately I ordered both sight unseen, since Raf Simons isn't carried anywhere in Toronto, but I got them for decent prices (the canvas riders jacket was 50% off) and me and coldrice are splitting shipping so it isn't too expensive. Hopefully I like them anyway

I meant those high-collared hoodies. I'm sure you'll enjoy the styling and if you're between let's say 5'10 and 6'2 the lenght should be allright too. They run true to size so your order should fit you well. As for the zipper well it's a minor quirk but it really annoyed me, some people who own Raf pieces that had similar problems told me it got better but I have no idea about that batch. It's certainly one of the cooler innovative hoodies out there so you should have no problem getting your money back if you decide to resell them.

Did you get them from luisaviaroma?

nice pick up with the ann dem hoodie. i better like the raf simons hoodie, i broke my "do not buy things at full price" rule, but i guess its discounted compared to buying it in NYC ($480) - but still it's the principle of things. i got some more stuff coming in the mail- cdiem trousers, cdiem white button up, lmaltieri freeform hat, and margelia blazer. hope those work out.

yeah, I'm 6' solid and I ordered a size 38 so it should fit perfectly-I hope. Too bad about the zipper... I hope it doesn't annoy me too much. The AKM M65 I just got has double Riri zippers, which is kind of a nice touch.

yep, ordered from LVR....

The Engineered Garments are definitely durable and well designed and constructed. I really like it. My only complaint is that they use meh YKK zippers. But so does pretty much everyone else in the same pricepoint and even higher. However, it is in this regard (construction and trims) that W+H excels. They use Lampo zippers, which are a step down from the riris previously used, but still very good zippers, the construction is geared for hard work (my Spruce hoodie (still waiting on W+H stuff) is more durable than workwear), and the fleece (both tiger and otherwise) is better material than that used by bonafide designer companies. The fit (well, I've heard mixed things about this years classic fits) are is slim without being exaggerated, and the small details as good or better than those from much more expensive brands (Rogan and Dsquared come immediately to mind because their hoodies look similar.)

Oh, went to Marc Jacobs intending to put down $85 for a pair of their new Vans. Sorely disappointed in the colorways and designs after 3 really strong seasons. Went across the street to Alan Bilzerian instead and picked up a waxed black cotton Engineers hat from English hatmaker Fred Bare for twice what I expected to spend today. I really like hats, but my head is surpirsingly hard to fit. This one was perfect, and I couldn't risk not getting it.

Oh, and for anyone interested, Alan Bilzerian is stocking Kohzo, Gilded Age, and a lot more denim now. I know that they have Belstaff Black Prince (not my favorite, but it is pretty hard to find in the US. Oh, and of course, ots of Darkshadow, Yamamoto, Number (N)ine, etc... and Alan's house line, which is really good.

Yeah, the Demeulemeester hoodie you guys are taling about has tricky sizing. Hope it works out for you guys...

we're not talking about the dem hoodie. we're talking about a raf hoodie. ugh. i miss being able to shop in stores.
Whoops, I meant the Raf hoodie.

Incidentally, the Demeulemeester hoodie with the deep raw neckline is really cool too, but again, not a basic piece. At all. Slightly easier to fit. Being average height and slim helps.

I just got this rogues gallery piece in the mail from AE. I tried it on at American Rag and it fit absolutely perfect on me. After being somewhat let down on the fit of the classic fit W+H hoodies I was stoked on this one. I love the color, the fact that its a pullover. I don't like the print much, but its on the back so I let it slide. I will post my own pics at some point.

I am waiting on the shawl collar from peasent now. After that, the hoodie collection will be complete....mwahahaha

Hope that dude didn't stick his greasy head through the one you bought. Nice though.
