for the GYM?

I wear running shoes to the gym, but what do I know.

Thrifting girl and I went out tonight and I found a 1950s Melton red/black plaid hunters jacket and a Rich Sher tan wool thigh-length (short) topcoat. $7 total.

I now have more coats/jackets in my closet than I've owned before over my entire lifetime. This has to stop.

Why?

(I hope you spent more on her, or she might start saying that...)

Hey, I paid for dinner, desert, and a bottle of wine at a nice Italian restaurant. I think I held up my end.

And as for why--how many freaking coats/jackets does one person need? It's starting to feel a little like I'm hoarding. The thing is though when you see a great jacket or coat for $3.50 that otherwise might sell for 10 times that in a vintage boutique--or that might have an equivalent new retailing for hundreds--it is impossible to pass up.

Dunno, guess every man has to decide when it's 'too much'. Great vintage finds, esp. cheap, are by their nature really hard to pass up.

Now, if that was your twentieth pair of $600 crocodile loafers, I might agree you have a "problem". Otherwise, vintage stuff ain't gonna loose it's value. I'm just jealous, actually.

Went thrifting/RL Chevy Chase mansion

- RLPL Merino wool crewneck: $40

Got a vintage boutique find today. Nothing nearly as nice price-wise as the dirt-cheap thrift store finds. $50. BUT it is in absolutely perfect shape. A Skyline (Made in Seattle) grey plaid hunter's jacket, 4 pockets (2 chest, 2 waist), tags look 50s-ish, has a big deep inside waist-level pocket with button. So cool. Hardly looks worn. I'll have to post pictures of this one.

I don't wear trainers usually elsewhere - albeit have a pair of leather converse. I don't run at the gym; treadmills are tres boring.

Truth. I'll go on 10 mile runs outdoors, but I go crazy after 10 minutes on a treadmill

I don't really like the 'tossing a blazer' thing, but sneaks only look good in those circumstances on a few looks, it usually looks GQ business casual to me. I just don't like lanvin sneaks, thats all.

I know you just spent a lot of money on some sneakers, but don't get confused. Lanvin sneakers do not belong with trousers or suits. They are no different than any other sneaker, they just cost more. And yes, I have a pair.
