You know I respect what drew is doing, offering a quality product with classic and designer cues taken from older garments and incorporating them into hand made pieces. He is by no means a designer and he admits it but I gotta agree with pink above. He's got his homies who continually help him whether its with operations type of stuff or some that are just there to create fluff in the same vein as the farinellis fanboys. It is deserved but a little over the top as of late.

I have something like this, but in suede, unlined on that top leather piece (and maybe unlined in the entire front, will have to check). It's nice for casual wear, or with faded denim.

edit: mine has a crepe sole - yours looks like a rubber sole of some sort? Anyway, I don't think they're "weird", I think they only look weird divorced from the context of being worn. They'll fit right in when you actually wear them.

It's called internet marketing and it's over the top for a reason. Once guy X (who may be a relatively new initiate) sees four or five consecutive people lavish wild praise on something without significant disagreement, it seems a natural reaction to take this as a sample representative of every member of the forum. Hype results. Sometimes deserved (as I believe it to be in this case according to people whose opinions I trust) and sometimes less deserved. This is apparently true of any forum dedicated to a niche interest - I do this on the site I work for from time to time for companies that deserve the hype, we basically built a ski company out of nothing to pretty much freeskiing's version of TOJ this way. People who understand how mob mentality on forums works can make almost anything cool. Also I thought this was the random fashion thoughts thread, but in light of the fact that it's recent purchases I just kop'd two polo 100% cashmere v-necks in black and charcoal to wear over shirts w/ ties this winter. Already have one and it's a nice medium weight for layering. I need more shirts though, if anyone has suggestions for something OTR that would be about 23" pit to pit and work with a suit for when I need it to. Been eyeing some Alexander McQueen on ebay at 80 / pop.

Well, at least people are reacting so strongly based on actual pictures and fits of the garments in question. Razele- the rider sounds cool but man, i have to have pockets. I hate not having anywhere to put my hands when standing around. I'd have to pull a jack donaghy and hold two cups at a time at parties

Believe me I know what it is, I first saw this back in 01-02 on car forums. It is a great way of marketing.

Social psychologists have proven via studies that 'name/brand recognition' requires seeing a given name referenced about 10-12 times before it registers as significant. Depending on context, this can lessen.

It's also posited that 'name recognition' and 'celebrity' both derive from this phenomenon. It's almost instinctual to sense and then believe that something is important just because you saw it mentioned numerous times. Regardless if it sucks or not.

Man I love 30 Rock It's crazy how shows like that don't get big over here, but people eat up generic sitcom rubbish. RE Pockets: Thought about it for along time. Got another jacket that I love that doesn't have front pockets and it doesn't bother me.
