What? So your saying that because the leather on the MMM is nicer, it is going to wear down faster? That makes no sense to me. If anything higher quality leather will break in nicer than cheap leather will. Its not like the shoes are made out of lambskin or some kind of more delicate leather. Look at all the CPs out there that look very nice broken in. Plus I don't think anyone wearing a pair of MMM trainers is going to wish they had Nikes...

+1 to this ridicule. I can use photos to weed out obvious garbage, items that I would never let touch my person. But you need to have quality items in your hand to appreciate them. Internet photos are just not good enough.

The internet is good fun and can inform us but there are limits to how much knowledge it can deliver. By analogy, who knows more about a woman, the "I saw her on the internet" guy or the "yeah I nailed her last week" guy?

You're incredibly stupid. Following your logic, I should throw away my Aldens then run to the local JC Penny's and cop some Bostonians.

Probably the internet dude. That guy was probably stalking the girl for a few months.

Look those shoes aren't masterpieces of construction but they're relatively more durable and comfortable than regular german army trainers. "Nicer" leather is just that, it ages better and is usually more durable. It's still glued soles and everything but there is no reason to believe a pair of Nike would be better made. I know because I own/have owned designer and regular sneakers and I've seen how they evolve over time. It's great you like to spew nonsense about stuff you don't know but please don't act like you can speak from a position of authority; I own everything from bespoke Lobbs to Adidas trainers and didn't start buying nice clothes 3 months ago so I know how they evolve.

Now are certain articles of designer clothing relatively overpriced, in the sense that the profit margin is higher, sure. It's still up to me to decide if I want a cheaper alternative or if the added design and construction elements make it worth it. In that case they do.

the moon boots look cool -_-

ok seriously which looks more comfortable, margiela german army trainers or rick dunks???

i think i will buy a pair of margielas and see if they are really that good. what is a reasonable price to pay for a pair?

(i have these in my dreambox but 230 seems outrageous for a lowtop that looks this plain)

how about you just go try them on..... no reason to buy, yet. and comfort is subjective. I have feet flatter than frodo so both shoes are equally uncomfortable without an orthotic.

Rick sneakers are shoddily constructed...you buy them for the look.

MMM low tops retail for something like $425, you can probably find them for less than $300. In Europe they retail for a lot less, I paid €150 for mine (retail is a little bit over €200).

This is what it boils down to. It's a value judgement.

$230 for a pair of laceless MMM sneakers. Please tell me what justifies this? At least wait until they go on yoox supersale or something.
