I don't ever iron because I just wear a white Hanes tee everyday, but I do try to either press all of my buttondowns, or get them pressed for me. I can't stand uncreased pleats or too much seam puckering.

Yeah the exchange rate is pretty awful lately. Seems like almost every time I proxy something it gets more expensive. A strong US economy is still very important for Japanese companies. If we're fucked then Japan will get hit by it too since they depend heavily on exporting goods to us. If you really believe all the doomsday estimates, then you are welcome to bet on Japanese currency using futures contracts and you can become a rich man! I wonder how many of these analysts and talking heads on TV feel confident enough in their predictions to do this? I think I know the answer....

from what I understand government intervention from Japan alone can't rebound the Yen for more than the short-short-run. 50/dollar sounds ridic though (even if they are fucked there's not much they can do themselves without the cooperation of other countries)

The description for the product reads:
"Preferred skivvies of the rich and famous"

Sounds like something you'd hear on a late night infomercial. Would a truly good brand describe itself like that? Unlikely.

Mr. Olive finally released their new "tight fit" chinos this week, so I just ordered a pair tonight.

I have had the worst time finding a pair of basic khaki chinos that fit nicely! It seems like every pair labeled "slim" is heavily tapered in the legs, yet incredibly roomy in the hips and thighs. The end result is always sloppy looking and carrot like when worn by someone skinny like myself.

The Mr. Olive chinos have very tight measurements in the upper block so I am hopeful these will put an end to my search. If anyone else is looking for something similar, pm me in a week and I should be able to provide you with my thoughts on these.

Guys its not cool to not iron your shit, especially if you are leaving it to the machine to churn through your clothes and leave a donut of fabric at the bottom for you to scoop into the laundry basket. I figure if you're going to wear nice clothes you should be somewhat competent in taking care of nice clothes - that is - handwashing, ironing, sewing buttons back, stain removal, etc. Some shirts I leave unironed after handwashing them for effect but if I want even a sceric of dressiness in my attire there's no way I'll leave creases gashing back and forth everywhere and a collar that looks like an overworked vagina. Just be sure to check the tags because some delicate fabrics and cotton poly blends (for cheap clothes generally) will only take the coldest setting of the iron before they start sticking (tell tale sign of a too hot iron).
