junya has never appealed to me, maybe it's something I need to see for myself?
sorry Jet. Sent you a pm. I haven't really liked Junya till this season. I don't think its weird that everyone (including me) jumped on the bandwagon when he just had a really good show. His usual stuff is too "out" there for me, but this season has a nice mix of pieces. And the BoO shirt is the woven one.

Really? I liked previous junya a lot. I remember liking his stuff back when i first joined the forum and started looking at runway show and dreaming. Tried to keep it in mind for coming up with stuff of my own but failing. Junya always has neat pieces. Doesn't really seem that out there with the exception of some of the styling used (pieces tame enoguh though)

Looking back on the recent runway shows, I guess you're right. For some reason, the only Junya I have ever seen in stores has been pretty whacky and I've been turned off by it. Maybe its just the local buyers that have changed.

chrono - yeah, but I think it says more about me and my lack of style or exposure to that kind of thing than it does about junya, you know?

I was responding to keykoo actually. I think junya's stuff is pretty in line with what people on this forum should be going for imo. Which is an updated american look. Not necessarily dressing like a library of congress photo and going all out workwear or just slim raw jeans with random slim shirts. Modern american can look really well when done right. Robin hasn't posted in what seems like years but he personifies what i think this forum is/should be about with his style

Keykoo's sweater is about the only Junya I have seen that I could pull off. The rest of it looks good and is sometimes fascinating but is not something I could wear. I want to see more before I give up.

Give yourself more credit. I think it's mostly just americana type stuff but more modern and slim. The styling is sometimes a bit tougher to pull off for most but i think most people here could junya it up more than they think. Check the thread out i made a few months back. Relatively tame for the most part when you think in terms of individual pieces http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=104013

As far as being into junya and actually affording/junya there is a huge diff from the sufu kids and sf. My comment was directed towards the latter (besides like one guy seenmy who is a fan) regarding the recent influx of interest/cops which actually isn't a bad thing I'm just busting your guys' balls. I'd rather see you guys buy this shit and talk about it because it's far more interesting than all the same old lumberjack wear.

DL, there is a ton of nice jackets and knits you could wear and the only difficult pieces to incorporate are the crazy hunting pants n shit (just not practical in the city). Maxfield carries it also, though I am not sure if they still do since I haven't been there in a miinute (and rh is my go to). They had all the dope spring 07 pieces where I first fell in love with the shrunken/wrinkled floral blazer.

I like the blazer keykoo. I haven't jumped on the junya bandwagon yet though. The closest I'll get is a sweater that I liked at Ron Herman.

One of my biggest "regret to have not copped" was a Lewis Leathers x Junya riders jacket. That goes right under my non-cop of that red-brown margiela moto, and a few pieces from Miu Miu FW01 (lots of military gear in olive melton/boiled wool) and a Varvatos cracked black heavy leather mailbag from FW01. I've looked for these pieces in Decades and whatever high end consignment shop I could find for years... No luck. Arghhh...

^perhaps we should resurrect the regretted non-cops thread fok

like the vest, think it would be better w/o the contrast stitching in the leather around the pockets

Someone is selling a Vanson x Junya rider's on SuFu. I'm not sure how big of a difference there is but that might pique your interest Fok.
