Yah I know what you mean but my "basics" were in need of an upgrade. Now that most of that is taken care of I can buy some more exciting stuff.

six pairs of pima cotton tighty whities (well, actually, they are navy, red, and grey) from Banana Republic. Pretty much the only thing I can bear to purchase with my reward cards.

This is the last season of margiela for me.

Why cut off at this point? Margiela hasn't done anything in a while, its likely that Margiela will continue what its been doing for the last couple years (poorly)

I still need to pick up a Rider's jacket if I can ever find one.

Julius corduroy trousers. My first ever Julius purchase. Despite what many sf members say about Julius, I find these to be extremely wearable when paired with a plain t-shirt. They look great with both boots and black/white chucks. They are very tight with lots of taper in the legs, but the twisting and bunching helps them avoid looking overly slim. I normally consider cords to be "old man" pants, but the edginess of these totally cancels out that vibe for me.

How much were they? I have these and I love em, the distressing really isn't that bad at all.

MA+ thick "braided" belt in washed grey, which is really best described as dirty beige. Sort of a darker toned version of a "natural" leatherbelt.

I got them for 75% off, so roughly $125 or so.

I got a chuckle out of that part, what isn't wearable with a plain T?

Good. You can't stop soon as I start. I just won't feel as cool.

True, but that's my point exactly. Pairing a more unusual item with a t-shirt is always a safe choice. If I paired the trousers with one of the more unusual shirts I have instead, it might feel too "try hard" for my tastes. Any time I wear something slightly less conventional, I like to keep everything else in an outfit as simple and unassuming as possible.
