Quick questions fellas about a prospective shoe purchase

Am I nuts if I order this shoe from Berluti?

They are gorgeous shoes. Have you tried them on? If you know that they'll fit and are willing to pay the $$$, I suppose you are not nuts. Has anyone ever resolved the myth/rumor that Berluti shoes crease up like crazy and look awful after only a few wearings? Something about much thinner, less durable leather. If I were you, I'd want to get a bit of feedback from owners of Berluti dress shoes before taking the plunge.

It doesn't work for me. The floating medallion and the broguing are just an unusual combination. If you like it, though, go for it. I've seen much worse from Berlurti.

They certainly are interesting. I almost bought a pair in green. The big question is the price. The Blake-stitching and wrinkly leather (not a myth) isn't very nice for $1200+. Also, if you are ordering over the phone, that makes the patination process more difficult and possibly disappointing.

I like all the components, particularly the color, but I'm still not sure what I think about the shoes.

I checked these out at Barneys Bill and I was really disappointed with the qulaity:$$$ equation. You can do way better.

The leather is beautiful, and Berluti is a good shoemaker, but the shoe seems a little...er...Stacy Adams-looking?

What is stacy adams looking? I know stacies, that Berluti could never be mistaken for a pair of stacy adams.

I like the colour although the price definitely seems a little, uhm, extravagant. The shape looks ok, cannot quite tell.

Perhaps Corthay would be better.

Maybe it's Giorgio Brutini I'm thinking of. I think they look a little too contemporary and cheesy looking for the price.

luc I always appreciate your honesty. I'm going to hold out for Corthay when I visit in December/January.
