So I have this bottle of Sake. - Page 2

I really don`t know the answer to this, but I think there is a strong possibility that it may be OK. Of course it depends on storing conditions.

Sake stores frequently sell bottles that are 1 year old, so I doubt the life of sake is only 6 months from bottling. I am sure the life is very short once the bottle is opened though, as there is always a warning on the bottle to drink it as soon as possible after opening.

Although the storing conditions are different, there is also aged sake (just like wine) sold in stores. These bottles can be more than 10 years old.

Just drink it. And stop posting threads with "So" as the first word of the title.

"So what bourbons do people like?"
"So I have this bump on my scrotum"
"So where can I buy allen edmonds in detroit?"

Doesn't cream go bad or does the alcohol content prevent it from doing so?

I've been reading that any beer over 10% ABV will benefit from and can be aged. I assumed this is true for all alcohol products over 10%. Am I wrong?

Was it refrigerated the whole time? I did this a few weeks ago with some irish cream that was refrigerated for over a year and didn't notice any taste difference or get sick.

So, are you drinking 6 month old milk because it's pasteurized?

Quite the comedienne. Do you have cramps and bloating, too?

Sake is pasteurized which helps it last longer but I watched these two episodes of WineLibrary TV and they had this sake expert guy on. He's the leading Sake guy in the states and owns a shop in San Fran and has a book out. He says how long sake is good for in the video and I can't remember how long exactly but I know it's well under 3 years. Like I said, I think it's six months but it may be a year and a half which I know is a big difference but still that bottle would be twice as old as when it is good for.

As a beer brewer, I can name beers that will be fine at 3-4 years.

Try the sake. I'd bet it will taste fine.
