Can anyone help me out, I am seeking a store similar to Thick As Thieves, but in the Detroit area. I would like to get a good MTM suit and would mind using TAT, but I am concerned that I would provide them with the wrong measurements and would feel more comfortable being measured by the tailor.

heh I should be. But no, I just think it's a good thing to promote the hard work of one of our own.

Well, to that end, SA and TaT are identical - not in Detroit, readily available digitally to assist. So maybe you should put plugs in for both?

Where are you in Detroit? "Detroit" Detroit or Metro Detroit.

What's your budget?

Gladly, though I've only used SA personally of the two, and therefore currently only feel comfortable plugging a service I've used myself. I'm sure TaT is a wonderful service, though, and am happy to say that within my limited knowledge of them.

I have used TaT 4 times now each with better success than the prior one. Jason is fantastic to work with, and IMHO barring deep discounts on other suits, he offers some of the best bang for the buck. I cannot attest to SA, though.

EDIT: Also, with the measurement guide he gives, with someone else measuring you it is quite easy.

Swarley,

If anyone actually answers your question let me know.

Off topic I know but...do you know of anywhere to get Incotex or Eton at a decent price? Preferably in the Troy area.

^^ best bet is NM last call at Great Lakes, but really just check the forum here. in the last year, i can honestly say i haven't bought a damn thing around here. everything is online or i wait til i go to chicago or new york

as for custom suits....i have no idea. i've been to the claymore shop in birmingham once. it was nice and they do custom stuff, but the people were not so friendly.

i can vouch for TaT though. i've bought 2 suits and countless odd trousers. Jason knows his **** and will let you know if measurements are way off. just double check measurements with someone else.

I live in Metro Detroit (Northern Suburbs), and I'm looking to spend $500-$700.

Thank you all for your help. Is any one familiar with Ludwigs in Sterling Heights?
